![]() They blended into each other easily and I achieved a nice color-payoff right away: I didn’t have to keep going back in to add more except for that periwinkle color. I am impressed with the pigments in most of these shades. In fact, I learned a lesson not to always trust hand-swatching in the future. I decided to put them to the real test, because come on! Who just buys an eyeshadow palette to swatch it on the back of your hand? Well, my lovely readers, you’ll be happy to know that despite the fact that these shadows did not swatch very well initially, they did show up nicely on my eyelids and I had no trouble blending them and patting them on gently to build up color and I did NOT use a damp brush or wet the shadows in any way. Much better! I felt now I could really see how these might perform on my eyelids since I always wear a primer anyway. None of the YouTube videos I watched commented on how poorly they swatch and so I almost wondered at first if there was something wrong with my palette because I expected to feel buttery soft shadows that glided on like a dream. However… my initial thoughts when swatched dry with my fingertips on the back of my hand? I was NOT impressed and started to get worried. I’ll be honest, I couldn’t wait to swatch this puppy because the colors look so stunning together. And finally, a dark, navy blue matte base with royal blue sparkles throughout which seemed a tad on the “gritty side” to me.A satin, what I would call “periwinkle” (GORGEOUS on the eye!) but probably the shade I had the most trouble with as you do need patience to build it and it was the chalkiest of the bunch. ![]()

USE OF CHEMICAL SUBSTANCES TO ELIMINATE DEFECT LEVELS Moreover, FDA interprets the findings considering available scientific information (e.g., ecology of animal species represented) and the knowledge of how a product is grown, harvested, and processed. The criteria considered is based on the reported findings (e.g., lengths of hairs, sizes of insect fragments, distribution of filth in the sample, and combinations of filth types found). In this procedure, FDA's technical and regulatory experts in filth and extraneous materials use a variety of criteria, often in combination, in determining the significance and regulatory impact of the findings. If there is no defect action level for a product, or when findings show levels or types of defects that do not appear to fit the action level criteria, FDA evaluates the samples and decides on a case-by-case basis. It is the responsibility of the user of this booklet to stay current with any changes to this list. The FDA publishes these revisions as Notices in the Federal Register. The levels represent limits at which FDA will regard the food product "adulterated" and subject to enforcement action under Section 402(a)(3) of the Food, Drug, and Cosmetics Act.Īs technology improves, the FDA may review and change defect action levels on this list. The defect levels do not represent an average of the defects that occur in any of the products-the averages are actually much lower. It is incorrect to assume that because the FDA has an established defect action level for a food commodity, the food manufacturer need only stay just below that level. Products harmful to consumers are subject to regulatory action whether or not they exceed the action levels. The FDA set these action levels because it is economically impractical to grow, harvest, or process raw products that are totally free of non-hazardous, naturally occurring, unavoidable defects. That practice renders the final food unlawful regardless of the defect level of the finished food. Likewise, the mixing of blending of food with a defect at or above the current defect action level with another lot of the same or another food is not permitted. Poor manufacturing practices may result in enforcement action without regard to the action level. These "Food Defect Action Levels" listed in this booklet are set on this premise-that they pose no inherent hazard to health. Title 21, Code of Federal Regulations, Part 110.110 allows the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to establish maximum levels of natural or unavoidable defects in foods for human use that present no health hazard. ![]()
Doing that is silly, of course, and not particularly strategic, so it's not a problematic mechanic at all, and is actually kind of nice, except for the fact that the AI doesn't play by the same rules, and can quite happily, provided it's got the mana and room for it, summon three units a turn every turn so long as it wishes to chew through its deck like that.Īdded to this seems to be that, while it does have a limit on the number of cards it can play, exactly what those cards are does not seem to be fixed until it plays them - especially in late game, it always has exactly the unit it wants to have, when it wants it, and equipped with the rune that it determines will be the most beneficial to the current field at the time of summoning. This means that by the fourth turn (due to mana growth), we can be reduced to top-decking a single unit card each turn. As players, we're bound by our random draw of cards we get one guarantee and a 50/50 of two others, but after that it's random, as far as I can tell, and more importantly, aside our starting three we only draw an extra one card per turn. It's subtle, but it becomes very noticeable once you're aware of it - the way that the AI hand-cheats. I never like that, and this case was no exception. Initially, I didn't like that the AI isn't bound by the same rules that we, the players are. It worked well, over all, and I liked it. This meant that I got a lot of missions done as well, and I would keep two spare of each creature outside my main squad, for doing missions, effectively training them up in the process as well (I got a couple of bovos and phasmos early this way, so my core fifteen sees a lot of swap around as some of them sub in and out for missions variously). I'm the sort of girl who likes to be thorough, so I found myself wanting to go ahead and put ten of each race and class in to chant, to make my 70s across the board all nice and neat, and that meant I was never averse to running another repeat of this mission or that to get a few more of this or that unit-type to bundle off to the island, in conjunction with getting a few more runes for melding. I've really enjoyed the combat and battle system, and found it fun and versatile - though I admit I do end up feeling rather spoiled for choice with seven races, by five classes, plus the consideration of gender for rune choices, (more than fifty unique units, including the heroes) and only 15 slots in my deck. ![]() The other is how long it's been running a restart of the game often helps performance for a little while. One thing seems to be that the amount of 'stuff' you've got, be it units, equips, runes, etc., seems to increase the difficulty the game has of keeping everything smooth. though the more 'busy' the screen is, of course, the harder going it's likely to get. It seems to get choppy in places, then smooth up again, then stutter again, seemingly at random. I still get some performance issue with playing the game, and I've tried a bunch of things to improve it, but to no avail. The story itself is more enticing than the sex-shots - I've been as careful as I can be to avoid anything that might be spoilers for me, and if you consider how often something like -spoilers- is a major consideration for games in this genre, that ought to tell you how well you've done it. ![]() A nice bonus, but I actually got more tingles from the little mental imaginings that some of the tavern missions gave me. I watched each of the scenes once, upon earning them for the first time (maybe a few more times for certain others.), but overall they weren't the draw card for me, and truthfully, they were distinctly less polished and professional-seeming than the rest of the game. The game itself is the sell, really, with the 'porn' aspect being very minor, and you know I'm completely fine with that. The story of the game flows nicely, and it's got a good pace that makes you want to keep going one mission to the next - it's far too easy to stay up far too late, with this, and that's great (if dangerous). ![]() Gorepeat, you finish what you start, and you do so beautifully, and that alone is commendable, so thank you, and well done! More than that, I wanted to comment simply on the fact that it got done - this isn't something that ought to be underestimated, because for every designer or team of designers there are out there, the truth is that maybe one in a hundred games actually reach completion. ![]() So, I don't post often here but, now that this is finally finished, I wanted to offer my thanks and gratitude for creating such a profession, fun and interesting game. ![]() There really are tons of similarities between this and the other games I mentioned before in terms of gameplay, so don’t expect to be surprised much. But I’ve found them really enjoyable, particularly if you take some time off to wander around the world, do some side-missions, play some of the (TONS) of mini-games, and go after stuff like getting as many properties bought as you can. The story is minimal, and some have complained that the missions are same-y. It’s very reminiscent of the first two GTA games, and indeed “Retro City Rampage” (and the much less talked-about, but really rather brilliant “Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars” on the DS and PS): a top-down game where you can destroy pretty much everything, beat or kill anyone, all on the road to increase your revenue stream and succeed over the greedy large streaming corporations. And the gameplay is the core of it all: you go around the city, beating people into submission, bribing, extorting and generally conniving. Sure, you’re basically a crook living off past glory. And that is something we don’t see very much in gaming. To me, while this game is a super fun, top-down, Grand Theft Auto-inspired open-world romp, the social commentary elevates it above its predecessor due to sheer relevance. And that really is something we can talk and do something about. But the social commentary on how the streaming-and-same-day-delivery industry is killing small businesses is very much relevant today. There’s nothing we can do about what happened back then, anyway. ![]() Lacks charm? Does this overworld look like it lacks charm to you? They said the game lacked charm because of it. And that didn’t sit quite right with a lot of people. In contrast, “Shakedown: Hawaii” is a commentary on the modern-day, technology-driven society that we live in. “Retro City Rampage” had nostalgia to fall back on in terms of story and pop culture references – a time when arcades ruled, when Gala bingo was a great social night out and digital music didn’t exist. It shouldn’t really be seen as a product “competing” with its predecessor, but rather a new game from a very, very small and niche developer. The reality is that, sadly, the game was being judged with the wrong stick from the get go. “Retro City Rampage” had very, very long legs, with the DX version seeing multiple physical releases, up to last month, even! But how does its successor measure up? Is “Shakedown: Hawaii” worthy of such heritage? Or has this open-world 16-bit inspired romp fallen short of the hype? It’s finally time for VBlank Entertainment’s new game to see the light of day. |
